Cookie Policy
Last Updated: 05 September 2026
This notice explains the cookies trader-biz uses, what each one does, and how you control them. It covers our website and app at trader-biz.app.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a site. Some last for a fixed period ("persistent" cookies); others are deleted when you close your browser ("session" cookies). We keep our use small and specific, and this page lists every cookie we set.
Why we use cookies
We use two kinds of cookies.
Essential cookies keep the site working and secure — they are always on, because the site can't function without them.
Analytics and attribution cookies are set only with your consent. They help us understand how the product is used, and which of our marketing channels bring people to us — so we know what to improve and where to spend our marketing budget.
Important Cookie Information
We don't use cookies for advertising. We set no advertising cookies, run no ad networks on our site, do not build advertising audiences, and do not share your data with ad platforms. Analytics data is never sold.
Essential cookies
These make the site work and keep it secure. They don't track you, and the site can't function properly without them, so they are always on.
sessionid
What it does: Keeps you signed in as you move around the app How long it lasts: 2 weeks
csrftoken
What it does: Protects forms against cross-site request forgery
How long it lasts: 1 year
analytics_consent
What it does: Remembers the choice you made on our analytics
consent banner
Including a choice to accept/decline Analytics and attribution cookies
How long it lasts: 1 year ph_reset_pending
What it does: A 10-second flag that clears the analytics identity from your browser when you log out, so nobody else using the device is linked to your activity
How long it lasts: 10 seconds
_GRECAPTCHA (set by Google)
What it does: Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our login and signup forms from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA's use of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Google Terms of Service (https://policies.google.com/terms) How long it lasts: 6 months
Analytics and attribution cookies
These are set only with your consent, given through our consent banner. If you decline, none of them are set and no analytics are collected about you — everything in the app works exactly the same.
These cookies are set on our own domain, but the analytics data they enable is processed for us by PostHog, our analytics provider, on servers in the European Union.
ph_*_posthog
What it does: Holds a random identifier so we can understand how the app is used — which features people use and where the signup flow loses them
How long it lasts: 1 year
ft_attribution
What it does: Remembers the first marketing campaign that brought this browser to our site (for example, a newsletter or ad link), so we know which channels actually work
How long it lasts: 90 days
lt_attribution
What it does: Remembers the most recent campaign-tagged visit
How long it lasts: 90 days
Analytics and session replay
With your consent, we use PostHog (https://posthog.com) to collect behavioural analytics: pages viewed, features used, and the steps of our signup flow. This may include session replays — reconstructions of how a page was used.
In every replay, all text and all form inputs are masked. We never see what you type: not your name, your email, your trades, or anything else you enter. Replays show us where people get stuck, not what they wrote.
Analytics data is used only to understand and improve the product.
Marketing attribution
If you arrive via a link carrying campaign tags (utm_* parameters, or the click identifiers Google and Meta append to links from their platforms), we store those tags in the two attribution cookies above so that, if you later sign up, we know which channel introduced you.
This is our own first-party measurement of our own marketing — not advertising, as explained at the top of this page.
How you control cookies
The consent banner is the primary control for analytics and attribution cookies. It appears until you make a choice, and both choices are equal — declining is one click, and nothing about the app changes if you do. You can change your decision at any time from your account settings.
Your browser can also block or delete cookies — see your browser's help pages for instructions. Note that blocking the essential cookies above will stop parts of the site working, such as staying signed in.
Payments
When you subscribe, checkout happens on Stripe's own site. Any cookies used there are set by Stripe on its own pages and covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).
